इक तारे ने टूट के यारों, क्या उनको समझाया है

रंग बिरंगी इस महफ़िल में, तुम क्यूं इतने चुप चुप हो
भूल भी जाओ पागल लोगों, क्या खोया क्या पाया है

शेर कहाँ है खून है दिल का, जो लफ़्ज़ों में बिखरा है
दिल के ज़ख्म दिखा कर हमने, महफ़िल को गरमाया है

अब ‘शहजाद’ ये झूठ न बोलो, वो इतने बेदर्द नहीं
अपनी चाहत को हभी परखो, गर इलज़ाम लगाया है

kya tuuta hai andar andar, kyuun chehara kumhalaaya hai
tanha tanha rone waalon, kaun tumhein yaad aaya hai

chupke chupke sulag rahe the, yaad mein unki diwaane
ik taare ne tuut ke yaaron, kya unko samjhaaya hai

rang birangi is mehfil mein, tum kyuun itane chup chup ho
bhuul bhi jaao paagal logon, kya khoya kya paaya hai

sher kahaan hai khuun hai dil ka, jo lafzon mein bikhara hai
dil ke zakhm dikha kar hamne, mehfil ko garmaaya hai

ab ‘Shehzad’ ye jhuuth na bolo, wo itana bedard nahin
apni chaahat ko bhi parakho, gar ilzaam lagaaya hai
