Kahe ko biyahi bides is a wedding song you may have heard many a times in weddings or in movies. The lyrics has been penned by the greatest music Amir Khusrow Dehlawi,  a Sufi musician, poet and scholar who is considered as the "father of Qawwali". The song has been sung by many singers. The song talks about the girl ready to part from her parents and missing them with a sort of complaints of being parted from them. Words are full of emotions and almost every singer has tried to carry that feeling in his or her voice. Here I have tried to bring some of them to you, and personally i like the one sung by Jagjit kaur in Umrao Jaan.

The song "Hamri Atariya Pe" has been sung by many singers over the time. We have seen different renditions of this song recently in films like Satyagrah and Dedh Ishqia. But we're talking about the version which has been sung by the great Hindustani Classical Singer Mallika-e-Ghazal Begum Akhtar in the form of dadra. Unlike other renditions of the song we find that Begum akhtar has echoed the pain of the words in her voice.

Woh Jo Humme Tumme Karaar Tha by Begum Akhtar

For those of us who listen to Hindi or Urdu Ghazals, there are undoubtedly a few special favorites we can never get tired of listening to. Recently I came across this song when i heard this song in the movie Dedh Ishqiya where it plays in the background. The ghazal "Woh Jo Humme Tumme Karaar Tha" has been sung by various singers. The most beautiful version is the one sung by the Mallika-E-Ghazal Begum Akhtar. She has sung it so beautifully that even after you end up listening to the song it echoes into your ears for a long time and you yearn to hear it again and again. 

One more Beautiful rendition of the ghazal is here by the great ghazal singer Ghulam Ali in a classical ghazal singing style.

Piya Ghar Aavengey is a spritual song or sort of Bhajan written and sung by Kailash Kher. The song appeared first in the album Chaandan Mein. The song has been composed by Kailash-Paresh-Naresh (This band is called Kailasa). The words celebrate the meeting of the soul with the Almighty God. Here i present the version of the song that was sung by Kailash Kher in Coke Studio because i love their orchestra. Khelash Kher has a awesome voice and a different level in which he can beautifully sustain on the higher notes, though he is average on the lower notes and that's why the song picks up when after the opening lines Kailash takes it to the higher octave. Overall a lovely song that compels you to replay it once you finish it.

Mhare Hiwda Mein Jagi Dogri is a Rajasthani traditional folk song. This version of the song recently appeared in the TV serial Balika Vadhu. It is been composed by the experimentalist music composer Amit Trivedi who is known for his stunning variety of music in films. Mame Khan has given his voice to the song. The song has beautiful traditional instruments like sarangi, ravanhattha and khartal. A must listen song for folk music lovers.
