Baajuband khul khul jaaye

Classical singer Faiyaz Khan of the Agra gharana immortalised the thumri "Baajuband khul khul jaaye" in an early 1940s recording. Later, many singers including a young Kumar Gandharva, Bade Ghulam Ali, Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, Ghulam Ali, Jagjit Singh and many more brought out their own versions of the song. But few listeners probably know that the thumri has been composed by Sufi saint Amir Khusrau. But to listen this song in the voice of Abida Parveen is a different experience. The name of Abida Parveen itself is a sleeve note of the composition so there is nothing much to say but people who like her singing and specially classical singing would love it.
