The composition is quite melodious itself which has been made by Muzaffar Ali. This is one of the finest ghazals by Abida Parveen. The composition is so fine that it feels as if the music is flowing it's own course and it touches you softly.

Ek lafz-e-mohabbat ka adna saa fasana hai
simte to dil-e-aashiq phaile to zamana hai
Ankhon mein nami si hai chup-chup se wo baithe hain
nazuk si nigaahon mein nazuk sa fasaana hai
Ye ishq nahin aasaan itna hi samajh leeje
ek aag ka dariya hai aur doob ke jaana hai
Dil sang-e-malamat ka harchand nishana hai
dil phir bhi mera dil hai, dil hi to zamana hai
